8101 words in 2 days is the easy part. Editing this ever-expanding monolith of a dystopian thriller begins now. I didn’t expect to start this mid-July, but I will damn well finish it.
Don’t worry - the superhero novella is back on the docket for tomorrow. One step closer to finished products every single day.
Can’t wait to share it with you all! 📚 📚 📚

I think we all read “The Things They Carried” in high school, but “In the Lake of the Woods” always gets pushed under all of Tim O’Brien’s other works.
I read this during the summer before my sophomore year of college. I’d argue it’s one of the books that sparked the inspiration within me to become an author myself. It’s eerie, psychological, “Gone Girl”-esque, and keeps you guessing the entire time.
In other words, magnificent. #timobrien #inthelakeofthewoods #author #readersofinstagram #writersofinstagram #book #read #motivation #inspiration
I found this from 2 years ago and thought it was worth one more share. It’s amazing how far I’ve come with my weight loss. Like writing, it takes practice and commitment. I’m happy to share my story as much as I can 💪🏻 thanks again @the__juicery for the chance to tell it. 2 years later, it still works! Link below if you’re interested:

Ok, the second book that has paved the way for me is none other than #Dune by Frank Herbert.
This is Star Wars before there was Star Wars. This is speculation, not just about a future world, but the ecological, economic, and political terrors that come with intergalactic space travel. It’s super nerdy, but incredibly brilliant, forthcoming, and masterful.
If you haven’t read it. You’re totally missing out on one of those books that has and will change generations. #frankherbert #getreading #rtdonlon
